About Me

Hi, thanks for checking in!

I want to give you a warm thank you for showing interest in my website. It’s awesome to know there are others interested in emergency supplies. Not to mention wanting to be prepared for whatever comes your way.

Over the years I have really enjoyed using and testing products. My main goal is to see if they can benefit me and my life. And yes, I am totally guilty of loving those ‘As Seen on TV shows!’ I have found both good and bad items out in the emergency supplies area. I want to help you find the best for you.

A little more about me, I did the boy scout thing, played sports, worked since I can remember, and over the years have realized a few things. First, I really do enjoy helping people. Having the ability to help others has been getting me up in the morning for over a decade (and yes I will say I’m a first responder). Second, it’s great to teach and share my experiences with others. I guess that goes along with the first one. And lastly, I feel most alive when I’m outside, on a hike, camping, or on an epic adventure.

Something that makes all this possible, having the right supplies and equipment.

Life Happens

Just when you think everything is perfect, nothing can go wrong, and it just can’t get any better. That’s when you get a flat tire, the small screw from your glasses disappears, you spill coffee on your white shirt, or you realize you don’t have any food or water.

Life always seems to happen when you least expect it. From the common everyday things, the crazy PG&E rolling power outages, fires melting everything in their path, tornadoes, or hurricanes. Having a plan in place and specific items with you or available to you can be game-changers. They could even save your life.

I am Here to Help

To be honest I tend to be accident-prone and have been in some crazy situations. It’s always fun to try and figure out some MacGiver thing to get out. It’s even better if I don’t need to figure something out because I have the right equipment.

At work, it is really cool that everyone, even the new ‘guys,’ come to me regarding all the gadgets and doodads I use. This is everything from backpacks, gear bags, tactical gear, firearms, flashlights, first aid equipment, door breaching, all the way to camping, hiking, and every day carry. That’s what made me realize that even when I was younger, my friends and family would come to me for advice on anything dealing with emergency supplies and being prepared.

This led me to start this blog. I want to talk about cool items I use, am interested in, and “must-haves” to make sure everyone is prepared for what life throws at them.

I live in California and have had my power turned off a few times recently. It’s okay because it’s planned (or so they say). It never fails, just after I’ve gone grocery shopping, but I digress. It makes me smile because my neighbors keep freaking out about it. It’s like nobody has ever gone camping before. Then they see me watching TV, have led lights, and cooking dinner. It’s a great way to start a conversation…now if I can only remember to tell them about my new blog!

My Goal

I want this to be a site you can go to for reviews on emergency supplies, suggestions on what you personally need, and a place where there are truly no dumb questions. I think we can all come together to help each other out and together be ready for what life gives us each and every day.

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

E at Crater Lake
